The WS-7014 forecasts local weather for the next 12-24 hours
to help you plan for any kind of outdoor activity.
Pressure trends are shown using arrows to indicate increasing or
decreasing pressure and
outdoor temperature, indoor temperature and humidity are measured.
Temperature can be measured in up to 3 locations * to monitor
different parts of your garden, home or office, a wine cupboard or attic
using additional sensors.
The WS-7014 can use the NIST time broadcast signal to accurately set the correct time
and date.
The WS-7014 Forecast Station Features:
- Wireless sensors for easy setup
- Up to 3 remote temperature sensors
can be monitored from a single base station*
- Weather forecast, with tendency
- Temperature (indoor & outdoor)
- Indoor Humidity
- Min/max weather measurements
- Time & date automatically set
* 1 remote temperature sensor is included with the
Weather Station. Additional sensors may be purchased for measurements
at up to three locations.
The WS-7014 Forecast Station Includes:
- Base station display
- Detachable wall stand
- 1 x Wireless Outdoor/remote temperature Sensor

WS-7014 Base Station
The base station is powered using
2 type “AA” batteries. Batteries will in the base station
will last about 2 years under normal conditions. Alkaline batteries
are recommended.
The base station measures: 5.4" x 3.5" x 1.2" (13.8cm x 9cm x 3cm).
In Comparison
The WS-7014 Wireless Forecast Station incorporates a weather forecast to
help you plan your day. Measures indoor temperature, outdoor temperature and
indoor temperature. Additional sensors can be added to measure temperature
in up to 3 locations.
If you are not interested in a weather forecast, the
WS-9029 Wireless Weather Station
may
be a good choice. It also records indoor temperature, outdoor temperature and
indoor humidity, but is more compact and does not include a forecast.
The WS-7014 uses atmospheric pressure to make a weather forecast, but does
not display the pressure information. Atmospheric pressure can help you
better understand the forecast and learn more about the weather and your
local environment. The
WS-8035 Wireless Forecast Station with Pressure History
includes a bar graph illustrating pressure trends. This is really helpful
in understanding the stations forecast for changing weather. The
WS-8035
also adds outdoor humidity
measurement (the WS-7014 and
WS-9029
measure indoor humidity only),
and moon phase tracking.
If you are interested in monitoring rainfall or windspeed, as well as the
standard weather measurements, the
WS-2315 Weather Pro Center
offers a good choice. The WS-2315
also includes a computer interface. You can use the computer interface to
compile your own weather history or publish weather information on the Internet.
Sensor
A temperature sensor is included with the WS-7014 Weather Station
to measure outdoor temperature, or temperature at
any location. The measurements from this sensor
are transmitted to the base station using 915MHz wireless transmission.
The wireless range is up to 330 feet (100m) if no obstacles are
in the way. Obstacles such as trees, walls and windows will reduce the
range somewhat.
By purchasing additional remote sensors you can measure the temperature
in up to 3 locations. This is a good way to keep track of the
environment in a wine cellar, storage room or in different areas
of your home or office.
The temperature sensor would normally be installed out of
direct sunlight; under the eaves of your house, for example.
Batteries in the temperature sensor supply power for the radio
transmitter and sensor measurements.
The temperature/ sensor uses 2 type ‘AA’ batteries that will last about
2 years (under normal conditions).
- Temperature range: -39.8°F to 139.8°F (-39.9°C to 59.9°C)
- Data transmission interval: 4 seconds
- Dimensions: 5.05" x 1.50" x 0.83" (12.8cm x 3.8cm x 2.1cm)
Forecasting
Changes in atmospheric pressure are the
most important factor in predicting the weather.
The WS-7014 displays increasing or decreasing trend in pressure with
arrows next to the weather forecast graphic.
When pressure is increasing, good weather is generally on its
way while decreasing pressure heralds poorer weather.
The WS-7014 monitors changes in pressure and forecasts the weather for
the next 12 to 24 hours. The forecast is presented using
3 diffent symbols: a scale from generally improving weather to
increasingly poorer weather.
Time and Date
Time and date displayed by the WS-7014 Weather Station can be
set automatically using a radio signal broadcast from near Fort Collins in
Colorado. You'll find more information on the
NIST Radio Station here.
Controlled by this very precise clock, the WS-7014 Weather Station
will always show the correct time, adjusting automatically for daylight
savings time. The time can be displayed in 12 or 24 hour format and you can set
the time and date manually if you are unable to receive the radio broadcast.
